A Living Room Makeover in Bird Egg by Benjamin Moore

Sometimes you just need a change. I know my living room did. Living in the same apartment for six years, sometimes you lose the style you were going for. I would say for interior fashion I am more cottage chic. The color on my walls before was Electric Blue by Benjamin Moore. It was fun for awhile as I was inspired by Carrie Bradshaw’s apartment revamp in SATC The Movie. However, I was bored. I had been eying Bird Egg by Benjamin Moore for a while in many design magazines. It is a robin’s egg blue and so serene. I needed something calming and soothing. I also needed function and with a few accessories and some paint, I could create my living room palace.

I called upon interior design genius, Amy Chalmers, whom is also a popular internet phenom with her blog, Maison Décor. The most important lesson Amy taught me was throwing a coat of paint on anything can totally change anything. My furniture finally fit by just changing the hue.

Below are the before pictures. Notice the huge, mismatched television and the clutter. By removing some items, it allowed for others.
The Revamp then takes place. It's a lot of work!
We created this hutch out of the table and bookcase! Genius!

Wallah! Here is the finished product.

Look at the new flat screen that does not call attention. Add a trunk for shoes and a rack for bags, hats, or coats.
A vintage shelf me and my Mom found paired with my treasures.
My home office area.

Changing the color of this bookcase and the accessories really helped the room.
The breakfast nook.

Then we really took advantage of the window and this gorgeous flea market find! I can't wait to remove the AC.
There is is. The transformation and I am in love. Check out Amy's blog as I mentioned above and let me know what you think!
