| Marc Andrew Deley / Crammed MediaOn Wednesday, members of Gilt City Boston held a terrific event at the gorgeous Newbury St. Cynthia Rowley store.Guests enjoyed a 20% discount off of everything in the store, including the new Spring 2011 collection sponsored by Hotel Chocolat, IL, Prosecco by Mionetto and FIJI Water . On display in all patterns, colors, and textures, the clothing was amazing. With celery greens, cobalt blues, and blush tones dominating the store, it is such a fresh look at Spring. Women's Wear Daily notes, “At its core, Cynthia Rowley’s spring collection was about clean shapes in sherbet colors." |
The highlight of the night was when Cynthia arrived with her trademark edge, wearing fabulous royal blue boots that stole the show. When we had the chance to speak, she had so much wisdom to offer. She started with nothing, which is pretty impressive, considering the powerhouse designer she has become today. She said, "if you love what you do, take everything as an opportunity and always, always be thinking."
As you can see here, the store is stunning. With a fireplace, zebra rug, and framed fashion pictures, it feels less like a retail store and more like my shopping in a swanky living room.
