SHOP: Maison Decor

Yesterday, the beau and I took a trip to Malden to visit his Mom and her new vintage shop, Maison Decor. It has been a dream for Amy Chalmers to open a shop and now was the time! Amy is a fabulous interior designer and blogger. With all her expertise in decor, this is the perfect venue for Amy! Take a look around!
The store is very shabby chic with so many romantic touches!
How fun are these hot pink chairs?
These angel wings ($185) will soon find a place in my apartment.
Clear baubles and crystal...
Look at how Amy decorated the door!
The floor was painted with large stencils. I adore this idea. It's a love poem.
An old crown decorated with ribbons ($15)
Of course we snuck out with a gorgeous piece of furniture to go with my desk set! I will be showing it off soon! Stop by the shop at 50 Summer Street in Malden, MA.

My New Wallet

I knew the second I saw this as I walked into Turtle boutique, it was soon to be mine! I just love the colors and pattern. I was in need of a new wallet anyway. Ann Dingwell, the owner of Turtle, told me they are actually Missoni! $45 for a Missoni wallet? SOLD! The Missoni knits travel from Italy and are made into these amazing pieces! Grab one in the pattern of your choice!

Apron Anxiety

I just finished the most fabulous book by the most fabulous girl. Apron Anxiety is one of the best books I have read in a long time. I added it to my list of favorites. Alyssa Shelasky writes in such an honest, funny point of view and I could really relate to her struggles. I think everyone should grab a copy and learn a few lessons as well as recipes to better your soul.

I met Alyssa at her book launch in Boston and she was just as cool in person!

What's In My Bag

My boyfriend would say I have a handbag problem. He might be right. I have more handbags than food items in my fridge. I think of them as my friends who walk with me throughout the city. Yesterday, I popped into Marc Jacobs because I love the jewelry selection. Of course, I suddenly spy this adorable, little backpack. Very hippie, very cool. I had to have it for summer. It's now being lived in by my must have items to carry me throughout the day. Take a look.
Business cards, my favorite lipgloss, coral lipstick
My wallet; a gift from Tiffany and Co.
My trustworthy RayBans, nail polish for touch-ups, lipstain, and keys
Blotting papers (a must), change purse, Iphone

Designer Love: Persifor

The "signature" print

Last week I was graciously invited to meet budding designer, Alexandra Thompson, who created the line Persifor. She has a pretty impressive background working for big names like J.Crew and Lily Pulitzer.

I was amazed at her pieces. They are very simple yet extremely unique. Each season, Alexandra colloborates with an "artist in the spotlight" to engineer their original artwork into limited edition prints. They can be worn day or night with just a few accessory changes. I absolutely died over her ikat pieces due out this fall. I really covet the gym bag! How stylish would you feel walking to the gym with that on your shoulder?

I will be buying a few pieces this summer and anxiously waiting for fall when the new line is out! Graciously, I was given this amazing cork bangle sold here. It's so original and adds a special spark to my arm parties!

My Love Affair with Whole Foods

I just love Whole Foods. There is a feeling of excitement as I walk through the doors. Even though I hardly go near the stove, it's one of my favorite places. I just adore the flower section. It's one of the best places to find beautiful, inexpensive flowers for your home or a friend. The gelato gets me every time and I never leave without a couple bars of lavender soap in my bag. You never know what you're going to find at Whole Foods. On a recent trip, I found this adorable change purse with an ever better saying. I'm one of those girls with change endlessly chattering at the bottom of my purse. Maybe this will help (and it's only $3.99)!
