Lip gloss mania: Boston's best glosses

1. Starry Kiss Me 2. Chanel Coco Shine 3. Gloss d' Armani 4. J. Ilacqua Boston Mints 5. Smashbox
If you didn't know I'm a little obsessed with lip gloss. I have tried them all, trust me. There are a few favorites I have decided to share.

The new Chanel Coco Rouge Shine in Boy. This is a big favorite because it is a pigmented yet has that shine factor. I layer it with another fave, the Smashbox gloss in Pout. This is the ultimate in glosses because there is no sticky mess and the color is true to form. Flock has been selling J.Ilacqua Boston Mints since it opened on Shawmut Ave and I have been a fan since day one. Not only are they mint flavor, but they are named for famous Boston places like Newbury Street. How cute is that? Savas Studios introduced me to their lip gloss, Starry Kiss Me, which is not only glossy but plumping. I always carry this in my bag and leaves me satisfied every time I pucker my lips.

The newest in revolutionary glosses is Armani's Gloss d'Armani. This uses Color Fil Shine Technology that allows for high-definition colors that last and hold shine. The mirror oils increase the shine while silicon oil leaves your lips silky smooth. It remains true without fading for up to eight hours and I can testify it does!

Country's Newest Star

Nichole McAllister grew up in Maine listening to country music every morning with her parents. In fourth grade she made the decision that she too would be a country star. Nichole lists Leann Rimes’ famous single, “Blue”, as her biggest inspiration. At nine, Nichole learned to play the piano and flute in less than a month. Her dedication is unparalleled. She started writing songs at fourteen and at the University of Southern Maine she started performing live.
One of her biggest and most personal songs is “Rush” where her guitar skills are truly shining. Among her many inspirations are Carrie Underwood, Brad Praisley, Tim McGraw, The Eagles and Martina McBride. Nichole makes music for anyone to relate to and give them those feelings to thrive on or as Nicole would say, “A rush.”

Vintage Fuss Jewelry

Headbands
Vintage Japanese flower cabochon circa 1950's on a gold vintage chain with faux pearls and green glass beads

Every true fashionsita loves vintage. I know I do. Vintage jewelry is a staple is my collection of pieces so when I discovered the line Vintage Fuss, I was more than thrilled. Amy Rose is a collector of de-stash items from women whom she does custom work for and purchases the extra costume jewelry they did not wish to use or keep. She also finds pieces at vintage shops, flea markets and estate sales. She then merges pieces together to create rare, one of a kind jewelry. " I spend time on each piece making sure it is a good marriage of pieces making it one of a kind and fun to wear!  I love the treasure hunt involved in finding pieces and of course spend a lot of time deciding what to do with it!" says Amy.

My favorite piece: Vintage acrylic cameo on a gold plated setting
This line is so unique in that Amy takes jewelry from countless collections to make something that can be worn time and time again. It is ageless and nostalgic. The name also comes from the "fuss" she puts into the collection to make it so distinctive. Each piece is something to marvel over.

All the Ladies!
This past weekend  I had a fantastic opportunity to join some fellow fashionistas for the Sparkle IV fundraiser to benefit Rosie's Place hosted by Image Unlimited Communications. I headed to the Beacon Hill Bistro to find my outfits from Savas Studios Next was meet all the fabulous Boston talent walking the show with me. Among them were Lisa Pierpont, founder and editor of Boldfacers.com, Erica Corsano, of Gilt City BostonJenny Johnson, co-star and executive producer of NECN’s “TV Diner,” Megan Johnson, writer for The Boston Herald’s “Inside Track”, Erin Souza, writer for BizBash Media and STUFF magazine, Cheryl Fenton, freelance writer for STUFF and Boston Common magazines and founder of EasyPeasyBlog.com, Liz Meagher, segment producer of Fox25 Morning News,  and Kelly Malone, host of "What's in Store" on WBZ-TV and TV 38.
Lovely host Christina Pierce
A glass of Nicolas Feuillatte champagne, one of the sponsors, and I was ready for my first catwalk down the aisle. I have to say I enjoyed it! I modeled two outfits from Savas including a leopard number and Boston Jean Company’s new jeans featuring a cute "B" on the butt for Boston; a perfect fit. Some of the other boutiques involved were Ku De Ta, Crush, Moxsie, Sara Campbell, DressM.Flynn and Holiday. The event went off without a hitch and I survived my first modeling experience. Thanks to everyone involved for such a wonderful cause and for being able to meet such wonderful talents. I am not at Gisele status yet, but at least I didn’t pull a Carrie Bradshaw on the runway and fall tumbling down.

Top Five Summer Wants

I am always wanting something whether it be a new bag, dress, hat, etc. I decided to share my top five summer wants with you all. Here goes:

1.  The Quail Rapp Dress: The draping and bow on this dress is ultra feminine and I am in love. The perfect color for summer, it is a must have for my closet.

2.  The Halston Heritage Trench: With all the rain Boston has seen this spring, this is the ultimate trench for summer. I love the simplicity and the lightweight fabric to keep me cool in a thunderstorm!

3. YSL Volume Effet Faux CILSLuxurious Masacara: I have been wanting to switch up my daily makeup and add some hint of color. This purple mascara is not only plumping but full of that color I am looking for. It is subtle but makes green and brown eyes pop.

4. American Apparrel Large Leather Pouch: This is the perfect summer bag to carry around with all your goodies. It is sleek and sexy but also large enough to fit everything. The colors are so fun!

5. House of Harlow 1960 Pearl Open Toe Pumps: I am a huge fan of Nicole Richie's clothing and accessories line and these shoes are just what I need to complete my wardrobe. Peep toe pumps are hot right now and the sand, scale texture is just plain cool.
