When you walk into Avanti Salon, you might find clients and the staff surrounding master stylist, Troi Young. Why? He is truly enticing to watch and you may learn a thing or two. As I said, even the staff knows that. He is a genius and when you sit in his chair, just let him work his magic. Troi knows what looks good and if you have been seeking the right style, he is your man. I have known Troi for awhile was enthralled when I had the chance for him to cut and color my hair. For a split second, I thought I was Winona Ryder in Edward Scissorhands. Hair was flying and it feels like his hands are the scissors.
His background is quite impressive. He was in the union working on movies, theater productions, and magazines. He has been on the Newbury block for almost twenty five years owning his own salon and working at the best in the business. He started with clients like
Mark and
Donnie Wahlberg,
Reese Witherspoon,
New Kids on the Block, and
Rose McGowan. This guy knows his stuff. I felt like a celebrity sitting in his chair. Currently he says, ladies are loving curls and the secret to a great cut is knowing how the clients' hair works with the shape of their head. When I asked what he loves most about his job, he tells me, "It's the look on their faces when I've made them look as no one has before (priceless) and teaching others what I have been taught." I love him!
